What is Power of 5?

To understand Absolute Essents Power of 5, let us first understand what is an essential oil?

Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts and it takes a tremendous amount of plant material to make essential oils. For example, About 250 kgs of the lavender flower make 1 kg of lavender essential oil. Because it takes a huge amount of the plant to make essential oil, it’s a powerful botanical medicine. There are more than 90 types of essential oils, each with its own unique smell and potential health benefits.

Now that we have a basic idea of what essential oil is, let’s see how we can put them to our use.

Essential oils can be diluted with a carrier oil to be applied directly to the skin. Along with a base oil such as coconut oil, it can be applied to the hair. Or you can get creative and add the mixture to a body wash, shampoo, sunscreen etc.

So basically, there are a gazillion ways to take the benefit of essential oils in our day-to-day cosmetic products.

Now comes the important question. What is the Power of 5?

Power of 5 refers to Absolute Essents formulation that uses 5 essential oils in each of its formulations. Yes! Not 1, not 2, not 3 but 5 essential oils.

And why did we stop there? Because aromatherapy science says that adding a 6th essential oil can mess up the formulation.
